Welcome to ISITA2016

October 30–November 2, 2016
Monterey, California, USA

The International Symposium on Information Theory and Its Applications (ISITA) is a leading conference on information theory. Since its inception in 1990, ISITA has been an exciting forum for interdisciplinary interaction, gathering leading researchers to discuss topics of common interest in the field of information theory.

In 2016, the biennial ISITA will be held October 30 – November 2 in Monterey, California, USA at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel.

Monterey sits on the gorgeous California coastline, offering opportunities for hiking, kayaking, whale watching and more. Cannery Row houses an eclectic blend of specialty shops, restaurants and galleries, and hosts the world-class Monterey Bay Aquarium. Monterey is south of San Francisco, and is a 90-minute drive from San Jose. The Monterey Regional Airport has direct flights from six US cities, including San Francisco.

Call for Papers

Interested authors are invited to submit papers describing novel and previously unpublished results on topics in information theory and its applications, including, but not limited to:

• Error Control Coding• Coding Theory and Practice
• Coded Modulation• Data Compression and Source Coding
• Communication Systems• Data Storage
• Detection and Estimation• Mobile Communications
• Signal Processing• Pattern Recognition and Learning
• Rate-Distortion Theory• Multi-Terminal Information Theory
• Stochastic Processes• Cryptography and Data Security
• Network Coding• Applications of Information Theory
• Shannon Theory• Quantum Information Theory

Accepted papers will appear in the symposium proceedings. To be published in IEEE Xplore, an author of an accepted paper must register and present the paper. IEEE does not guarantee inclusion in IEEE Xplore.

Paper submission deadline: April 12, 2016 23:59 (UTC) updated

Acceptance notification: June 30, 2016

Further information on the paper submission, technical program, plenary talks, social events, and registration will be posted here as it becomes available.

The Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers will be held from November 6 to 9, 2016 in nearby Pacific Grove, California.

SITA from IEICE highlights papers in information theory and coding theory published in the journal IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences (IEICE-EA).
